Habit: Medium high tree, up to 20 m. Introduced in Denmark in the 18th century
Foliage: Pinnate, 40-50 cm long leaves with 8-12 pairs of small leaves
Flower: Male flowers are 5-10 cm long catkins. The female flowers are situated at the end of last years’ shoots
Site: Perfers a sunny and protected site in a nutritious, deep ground
Use: Solitary and forestry use. Very valuable timber
